We sing Red Rose as a round, it is (supposedly) about the war of the roses, possibly about two lovers, but may also be talking of peace between the house of York and Lancaster. (not Lancashire)
The two roses were mereged to create the Tudor rose.

Red rose white roses
shall I ever see thee wed,
aye marry that I will
if thou but stay.
