Very little unites Canadians. However, it remains a simple fact (which we are often too polite to mention)... ...that as Americans are defined by having rebelled against the British, our ancestors fought and died NOT to be American. I think this fact is misunderstood by most Americans; they tend not to dwell on the losing battles.
