For those in the San Francisco Bay Area - a master class with one of the great fingerstyle guitarists who also is an excellent instructor. I'm hosting this at my house - if you know any guitarists who might be interested, please feel free to pass on this info!

Sat. May 2, from 11 am to 12:30 pm
Master class for fingerstyle guitarists with Del Rey
Location: Berkeley, CA, near Ashby & College
Tuition: $40
To reserve a spot, get directions, etc., please email suzy@ericandsuzy.com

Here's your opportunity to learn from the fingerstyle guitarist who Acoustic Guitar called "one of the greatest modern players of the metal-bodied resonator guitar". Boogie woogie bass lines combined with syncopated melodies based on piano tunes, and the playing of Memphis Minnie, Rosetta Tharp, and Sam Chatmon in both standard and open tunings are her specialties. She'll answer your questions, as well as show you techniquies and characteristic pieces. Bring a guitar -- it doesn't have to be a resonator guitar -- and a recording device. Note: this is NOT a slide guitar workshop (Del doesn't play slide guitar). This workshop will be most accessible to accomplished finger pickers, but everyone is welcome!
Del Rey is an experienced and patient teacher who has been a perennial favorite at Centrum's Country Blues Week, Puget Sound Guitar Workshop, California Coast Music Camp and many other music camps.
