I'm the organizer of the Concert series that will be hosting Jed Marum and Allen Brenner on Sat., May 30. I heard them play together at the Civil War Music Encampment at Windham, NY and was so imprssed that I immediately invited them to come to the Sand Lake Center for the Arts as part of our Squire Jacob Coffeehouse Concert Series. They agreed and that led to thoughts of planning an afternoon long event relating to what was happening on the homefront during the Civil War. From noon to 7pm we'll be having three hour long concerts, a period dance, Abe Lincoln, his wife, and bodyguard, lots of demonstrations and people in period cloting, all begining with a flag raising ceremony complete wiht honor guard.
