I am looking for a Brenda Wooton song that concerns a conversation between a father and his daughter about her marriage prospects and the qualities of her intended. I heard it on a BBC folk programme about 25 years ago when they did a live broadcast from a folk festival. I only remember the last verse:- So, Daughter take the gay, gold ring And the love that's in his eye For the love that you get from an honest, poor man Is more than money can buy Any Brenda Wooton fans out there that can help?
