One of our stops that might be of interest to Mudcatters, or your musical friends is our Bandology 101 workshop. We are giving it on Friday, June 12 at 5:30 pm at the Acoustic Outfitters Music Shop, 72 Portsmouth Ave. in Stratham, NH. This is sort of out growth of lessons learned over our 11 years as a contra dance and Irish performance band.

The workshop has a practical orientation and is geared for new and established bands. It covers the basics skills needed to be a successful band, with emphasis on the specific interests of the participants including such things as creating a distinctive band sound/identity, arranging songs and tune sets, roles of melody, harmony, rhythm, dynamics and chordal accompaniment, musical communication, organizing sets for flow and to showcase individual strengths, nuts and bolts of band business, basic mplification/sound equipment.

I know you are probably saying - yikes no way to do that in 1 1/2 hours, but those are the range of topics and we will tailor it to whoever shows up.
