I first heard Our Town sung by Kate Rusby at some festival or other and was sure it must have been about small town England. A couple of years heard ID herself sing it and saw small town America. I sing it in my best Glasgow gutteral and it is about the town of Barrhead where I grew up. I have walked down Main St in the cold morning mist. It never fails to amaze me when a great songfits so personally to such diverse people; hoow something so personal can be so universal. Don't fixate on the voice, hear the song. Sing it. Make it yours
