Here's all that I can remember from the way that my Mother used to sing it. I know she used to sing a first verse about saving her money to go and buy the winkles in the first place. She used to tell us how, when she was a kid she used to take all of the winkles out of their shells first before eating them. Then her brothers used to come along and take them from her. Picking all the big ones out Picking all the big ones out You should see face all wrinkled when I saw my penn'oth o' winkles All the big ones gone it made me holler and shout There was old Aunt Rose with her finger up her nose Picking all the big ones out.
