i had one about the size of a walnut in my right wrist surgically removed. that was in 1985. the first couple days post-op were really painful. it took me about three weeks to regain some mobility, and i was pretty much back to what passes for normal in about six weeks. except for a -- still -- slightly numb patch on the back of my hand, i haven't had any recurrence or other problem since. good luck.
