I've just opened my personal email for the first time since arriving in the USA on business yesterday, and just found the dreadful news. I've been sitting here for the last half hour or so reading through all the moving tributes, with tears in my eyes. I'd only known Johnny a few years, since I came back to folk music and joined Herga. Now I've been sitting here a while longer trying to find the right words, but I'm too shocked. I just know we'll all miss the man and the voice so much. I'm so sad I couldn't be at Herga on Monday. My deepest sympathy to Joyce and the family.
