I sometimes go out and hop freight trains. That led me to attend the National Hobo Convention at Britt, Iowa in 1996, where I was dubbed a "Knight of the Road" by Luther the Jet, who was then King of the Hobos. Luther asked for my road name. I didn't have one, so I said "Downeast Bob" because my home was in Maine. I figured what was good enough for the hobo community was good enough for the Mudcat community. My real name is Bob Baldwin. |
