I use the same gear for a Cassette that I use for vinyl records. I have a preamp made by http://www.xpsound.com/ in Australia. It comes with software for restoring records. I've had mine for several years and have upgraded the software several times. It's made by Diamond Cut http://www.diamondcut.com/index.html I use the line out jacks from the cassette deck into the preamp, which connects to the PC sound card. It's not cheap, but not overly dear. You get what you pay for.
