Hi, Just a brief message to let you know about a forthcoming concert in Glasgow, on the 5th September. The Eliza Carthy Band will be headlining a concert at Glasgow's Old Fruitmarket on Saturday 5th September. Eliza Carthy makes a welcome return to Glasgow to support the Celtic Music Radio fundraising concert. Her last appearance at the Fruitmarket was during Celtic Connections 2006 when she received excellent reviews. Eliza is a truly inventive, innovative singer and fiddle-player, but also a gifted musical conceptualist. Also performing will be The Duplets, Kim Edgar, Dean Owens, Craig Jeffrey and John Malcolm. Celtic Music Radio is a community radio station, based in Glasgow and broadcasting to the Clyde area on 1530kHz, and on the internet at http://www.celticmusicradio.net/ . The station is a not-for-private-profit organisation, and the funds raised by this concert will be used to maintain our broadcast and internet services, and to offset our operating costs. Tickets are available now from either of the Glasgow Concert halls booking offices (Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, or City Halls/Fruitmarket), by phone on 0141 353 8000, or online from the Glasgow Concert Halls website. We've got some fantastic performers playing in an amazing venue. Hopefully some of you will be able to come along. Bruce.
