I have a collection of banjo and fiddle tunes which I recorded 40 years ago on large cassettes. The music consists of old tunes indiginous to the Appalacian area of NE Mississippi and NW Alabama rendered by an elderly musician who lived away back in the hills who had played all of his life. The problem is, I do not now have a recorder to replay them. Does anyone know of an institution or organization that would have the capability of retrieving this music from the large cassettes. I would like to donate the tapes and have someone make me a copy on smaller cassettes. There are probably 40 or 50 tunes as I remember that I recorded them for several hrs. I have several of the large cassettes.
