It would be good to remember the collections will likely open up to wider audiences over time. I think they wanted to make a Big Statement (hence the Guardian article touting it), to let people know the progress they are making getting the archives online. This is a HUGE task, btw. It could be they wanted to test it in academia before opening it up. But what a fantastic job!

Back to the Main Forum Page
