This is a complete shock. We were extremely tight in the 60's and this has left me feeling like I lost a family member even though I haven't seen him in over 30 years. He died way too young. I don't read the Journal so I never had a clue. The jams in his Sharon living room are etched in my memory and I had made loads of unique reel-to-reel stereo recordings including sessions with Bob Gibson. If I still had a machine to play those tapes, I would listen to them tonight. RIP Monte.
