Some years ago my mum was coming out of the newsagents to see two yobs chucking eggs at the door of the parked bus (my dad was sat in their car waiting for mom).
She set about the two thugs with her walking stick, cracking them on the backs of the legs.

Yep you've guessed it............. she was arrested and charged with assult!
She stood her ground and went to court, and after a lot of fuss in the local paper was acquitted - she point blank refused to apologise for her actions, and would have quite happily gone to prison

The yobs got off scot-free as the bus company didnt take any action against them.

Mom was 81 at the time.
