Hello, I've remembered this song for years but it seemed nobody I asked ever remembered it. We sang it in 8th grade Chorus, unfortunately I can't remember the teacher's name, as I'd like to thank her. It was in Syracuse NY, Levy Jr High, 1955-56. Today I sang what I could remember (the first verse) to a friend who loved it. I think I did pretty well after after 53 years! So then I got the idea of doing a Google Search for the lyrics. and the rest, as they say, is history ... Thank you all so very very much!
