I worked at Peate Musical when they were on Mansfield right next door to a neat old tavern. This was in the 50's. They left downtown and moved up around Decarie and the Metropolitan Blvd around 1968-1970 or thereabouts. A buddy of mine bought a Mansfield acoustic flat top guitar and as I recall it played okay but a wee bit short of Martin and Gibson in tone. I always assumed it was made in Canada, but as this thread points out it was probably made in the east. Stew
