Those who worry about such things might care to do what I did when I used to sing said song...initially through mishearing...reverse.. If one's "lad" runs the mineral line and one's "lass" sings the hymn it would seem to make more sense for those who must have it so. I'm sure Mr Betjeman would have approved of the folk process... Must go...can hear a distant band and have a wall in need of swinish decoration... Baz
