Here is that paragraph again, with the musical notation for 'flat' replaced by the word 'flat'!!!] Although Sam Henry's version indicates it's in the key of G, Andy actually plays it in the key of Eflat. On the Gibson H1 mandola strung with mandolin strings and tuned FCGC as mentioned above, this therefore requires capo3 or, alternatively, capo1 if playing on a 'normal' mandolin tuned GDAD. So, the resulting 'open' tuning is Aflat/Eflat/Bflat/Eflat. Great love to all; Patrick.
