I can't remember who it was, but I heard a comedian say, "I know why all these hip-hop kids and rappers are so angry all the time. I'd be angry if my trousers kept falling off!" used to tell my students- both the saggy ones and the ones with mid-calf shorts- "Your children are going to be rolling on the floor, splitting their sides laughing, when they see what you used to wear!" Then there was the one wearing the woolly ski hat pulled down over his ears on a hot June day in the in the studios. He was complaining that he could get enough volume on his headphones (he had them on over the hat) Sweat was running down his face as he played the drums. But he would not take the hat off, because it was "cool"! Young people are supposed to be foolish. Older ones are supposed to subject them to ruthless mockery. That's what's called education, and the growth of independence. Cheers Dave
