Bloody 'ell, Jeri! Don't get all "literal" with me about me poetic symbology in me song lyrics. It's a song. I am not a fecking accountant! I deal in me'taphor and sub'tle allusion, I do, and that's why Billy Bragg studies all me work so closely. It's not loik I was writin' a bleedin' grocery list, you know. The kind of scum wot I'm referrin' to in me song does NOT float terribly well at all, and if they do, well...they bloody well float fyce DOWN! So there.
