Sunday 17th January Wassailing in Willesden Green, London A Song and Story Walk down the High Street. Meet at 2.30pm sharp at Willesden Green tube. I'm a WG resident and was brought up on the folk scene. Last year I was most envious of all the rural wassails around the country, so I hope you can join me for my own, which I am taking down the High Street as Wassailing seems a great symbol for local businesses in the cold heart of the Crunch, as well as for trees in the cold heart of winter. Because it's my brainchild, there's no funding, just appreciation and cups of wassail and hot chocolate at the end of it! I've got 5minute spots for accomplished acoustic performers. Also seeking a grand finale who can sing and play Wassail tunes if possible. And drummers to accompany us as we walk through WG. Please email willesdengreenwassail@gmail.com willesdengreenwassail@gmail.com Or just turn up to join us for fun! Not all performers will be folk performers as we are trying to represent the local High Street, but there will also be a traditional Wassail chanting as we plant a new tree at Willesden Green Library. All my thanks and best wishes, Rachel http://www.facebook.com/#/event.php?eid=236057362094&ref=ts
