I watched a TV show on migraines and a famous performer - I wish I could remember who it was, you'd all know him - could perform with a migraine, but before and after the performance he would be in great pain and vomitting. I know that when I have migraine pain, it is relieved somewhat when I hum. Grief can squash migraines as well. After we lost a dear member of the family last January, I didn't have a migraine for nearly 2 weeks. I asked my neurologist about it, and he said that he hears many stories of people not getting their usual number of migraines while experiencing crisis situations. No one really knows why, but it is as if the brain cannot cope with another difficulty to bear on top of the grief. ~b.w.
