I'm just fifteen. My mum, although not a native Papuan, was brought up in Papua New Guinea. I was surprised to find this site, because I believed, incorrectly it would seem, that it was a Papuan New Guinean song. I know her mother sang it to her. As far as I remember, she sang these lyrics: Go to sleep my little pickaninny Or the flying fox will get you if you don't Go to slumber in the bosom of your old black momma Your're just daddy's little Alabama coon It's interesting to note the different variations in this one nursery rhyme.
