A Conversation In Bed by Amergin

She holds him to her dampened breast
Wiping his eyes, glistening with sweat
His hair curls across his forehead, red, brown wet
He presses his face deep into her shoulder
Feeling his tears dripping down his face
As the salt gently coats her fair skin
The water sizzles with the warmth of her embrace

She tells to him, her own tears in her voice,
"I am so very sorry for hurting your heart,
I just don't know what to do, what is best for you
This confusion is tearing me apart.
You know I never promised you a future
You deserve a girl better than one like me
One that can give to you what you need
One that can give you a bouncing baby."

He pulls himself from her tear-stained body
And looks into the pupils of her eyes
"Yes," his voice cracks in his ears
"I could find a girl," he softly sighs
"I could find one that doesn't have kids
One who knows what she wants, not confused
One who lets me take care of her
But that other girl would not be you."

She tugs him close to her body once more
As his body twitches in time with hers
Sobbing escaping two sets of lips
To be with her he secretly yearns
He feels the fluid crawling down his cheek
And listens to the music of his silent weeping
He thinks of their times walking together
His breathing slows and soon he is sleeping
