G'day,
I haven't seen the remake of "High Noon".
Some observations if I was going to do the job:
Who to get to play the, Oscar winning, Gary Cooper role?
Will have to pay Clint Eastwood a fortune.
The Grace Kelly part to be played by an unknown starlet - pay peanuts.
The theme song to be sung by an old established C+W singer - Johnny Cash?
Direction to be in the hands of well Clint of course and get him to forgo salary and take a percentage of the picture instead.
Shoot in Imax and use Technicolor - dye transfer system.
Locate exteriors in Rio Bravo/El Dorado/Rio Lobo territory.
Somebody mentioned in another thread that "Shane" was going to be made into a Broadway musical.
I love the theme tune from the movie - as played by Victor Young & his Singing Strings.
Just a further thought - I remember only one other movie which had a narritive song
and that was "The Slaughter Trail" which was shot in glorious Cinecolor.
This again was an 'oater' and includes the song that starts: "I wish I was an apple on a tree...."
It starred the actor -Brian Donlevy - who roles have included Sergeant Markov
and he played Big Daddy in one of the best titled movies you'll ever encounter:
"How to Stuff a Wild Bikini"(1965).
Toodle-pip.
