re the Crescent, our regular members don't frequent it because we're mostly coming by car from some way away, but that's no reason others shouldn't try it before or after the workshop. It's a nice pub with good beer; I don't know if it'd be full of students on a Friday night - although it's near the teaching parts of the Uni, it's not very close to any of the residences. Staff tend to gather there on a Friday after work, but that's earlier.
