Hi, all --- I am working with other local people to set up a non-profit community radio station (based in Ames, IA). We hope to have two hours of children's programming each weekday, and will have some actual storytelling, but will need to also have some reading of stories to fill up the time. (The first year will be strictly podcasts, but we hope to get on-air soon after that.) Hence, I am looking for as many sources for public domain material as I can find. I am particularly interested in finding multicultural material without the condescending tone that some of the older translations/adaptations have. I have found a number of sources, but thought I'd put it out to the catters in hopes that some of you might have favorite websites that I have yet to stumble across. [Or --- if any of you have recorded original stories that you would be willing to grant permission to air, that would be wonderful too. Our plan is for one hour of stories & one hour of children's music daily, so anyone with children's music who might like to "donate" a song or two would also be greatly appreciated. We are working on getting an ASCAP license, so anyone who belongs to that should get a royalty through them. All of our funding will be through grants & donations, and we are volunteers.] If anyone would like to respond privately, you can email me at celticblues5@hotmail.com Thanks so much for your consideration & suggestions!
