Would like to apologize for the thread hijack, but figure that here would be the best place to get local info. My wife and I are in the process of organizing a cycling tour of North Wales in the summer of 2011. We're both musicians and have Welsh heritage. I can trace mine to 1670 and my wife to the early 1800s. We'll be coming in on the ferry from Dun Laoghaire to Holyhead. From there we'll take A5 east to A4080 south. The plan, so far is to traverse the A4080 to an unnamed road(according to Mapmyride.com)that heads south just past Lon Faen Rd. on the left. This path, eventually ends at seaside. It's 25.2 miles from the ferry dock to this point. My question is this: Is there a ferry or contractor that could carry us and our gear from there across the Menai Strait to Caenarfon where we intend to spend our first days. We'd rather avoid crossing Anglesey to the Menai Bridge through Bangor, if possible as it would add about 20 miles to a long travel day. My e-mail address is welshdude2@yahoo.com. Just put 'Cycling Trip' in the subject line for those with local knowledge and kind enough to rs.

We're spending a solid month. Only going as far south as Aberystwyth east afa Welshpool and back thru Mallwyd, Bethesda, Betws-y-Coed and on to and thru Angelsey to Holyhead.

Thank you in advance for any and all rs and references. Bore da! Jeff
