On Wednesdays there is Coppull Folk as the Alison Arms on Preston Road at 9pm. A little less traditional in flavour than Four Fools. Both are great fun and close to Chorley. If you get as far as Wigan there are singarounds Tuesday and Thursday and a ukelele club on Wednesdays. There are lots of very enthusiastic music in the area, I'm sure you'll get a great welcome wherever you go. I'd still go myself if it wasn't so far from Nova Scotia. Simon
