Oh, yes. I forgot to say that starting to play wind instruments has affected the way I play the guitar. With wind instruments (excepting accordions, organs, melodicas, etc.), you can only play one note at a time. (Okay, this isn't quite true of the harmonicas, but it's the way I usually play them.) I had never really played this way because of the aforementioned thinness of the sound on a guitar when one does this. This applies to the piano, too, which was my first instrument. Playing wind instruments has made me realize what one can do with a melody (and a rhythm, of course) and I try to apply this to the guitar. Of course, it does sound thin, if there' no accompaniment at all, but I do play melodies by themselves more than I used to. I find they're much clearer if not buried by the accompaniment.
