Since Mbo has taken us to task several times lately for our curmudgeonly ways (ie - songs we hate, etc.), I thought we should have a thread of positive songs to soothe his kind, young heart. :-) You are only allowed to say, "Yes! I love that song too!" in response to postings on this thread. Those feeling the urge to hurl at the mention of a particular song should post those comments on one of the already-started "worst song" threads. Three basic categories occur to me at the moment - 1) Songs that uplift you every time you hear them. A couple of songs that I would include here are "Forever Young" and the Moody Blues' "Vintage Wine" (and if anyone has the chords for VW, I'd appreciate them being posted). 2) Songs that are not positive in the sense of happy-happy-joy-joy, but which convey the necessity of caring for each other. Example - "There Were Roses." 3) Songs that are not necessarily happy, but that feel SO GOOD to play or sing that they always give you a sensual thrill. A lot of blues songs come under this category for me - with the way you can slide your voice around the notes. "Wild Women Don't Have the Blues," "Perfect Stranger." All right, have at it!
