John Spiers & Jon Boden arrive at The Musician in Leicester on Tuesday 2 March, with support from The Kittiwakes.

At the very forefront of English folk music since 2003 Spiers & Boden were winners of the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards Horizon award in 2003, and have since gone on to win Best Duo twice, Best Live Act (for Bellowhead) an unprecedented four times in six years and, to cap it all, Jon Boden was voted Folk Singer Of the Year at the 2010 awards ceremony earlier this year. The Guardian described them as "the finest instrumental duo on the traditional scene", sentiments that have been echoed by BBC Radio 2, Froots and many others. Their performances are fiery, punky, spontaneous and above all fun, and this is an evening not to be missed.

Providing the support will be the London-based trio The Kittiwakes. Their debut album, Lofoten Calling, is a concept piece based on the people, wildlife, landscape and folklore of the Lofoten Islands, and was described by BBC 6 Music as "a wonderfully bright and highly original debut" and "compulsory listening" by Mojo.

Tickets for this are selling fast and if you're coming and want a seat rather than a bounce around best to get there early as there won't be many available.

Tickets are £10 in advance from wegottickets or The Musician, £12 on the door.

Doors open at 8pm with music starting at 8.30pm.
