When I was a child, my mother would often sing this when we were driving a long distance on vacation. Below is how I remember it. As the organ peeled potatoes, Song was rendered by the choir, As the sexton rang the church bell, Someone set the church on fire, Holy Smokes!! the preacher shouted, In the rush, he lost his hair, Now his head resembles heaven, For there is no parting there.
