Joe, Gerry, thank you very much for your help. Now listening to Tom Paxton singing on the DVD and reading the words, this is what he sings.

As for the Lion's Head on Sheridan Square, when Tom introduces this song, on the DVD, he is talking about a writers pub with pages of their books on the walls. I googled "Lion's Head Sheridan Square" and found some information on the URL below. I guess the pub in the song is the pub in the article, situated in Greenwich Village.
