Hi Everyone,

My grandmother who was born in 1909 sang this to me when I was little... She grew up in Arkansas. I always enjoyed singing it with her, even though some of it doesn't make much sense, it's so cute and fun to sing! I will pass it down to my children one day as well! =)
This is the version she sang to me:

"In China, there was a little man
His name was Shing-a-ling, Shing-a-ling Shan.

His legs were short and his feet were small
And this little man couldn't walk at all.

Shing-a-ling, Shing-a-ling, Shing-a-ling Shan
Rycko Decko Happy Man
Alico Disco Corneo
Gallopin and a wallopin in the county-o

This little man went to the window to play his little banjo
He let it fall on Shing-a-ling Shan
And that was the end of the China Man...."

=)
