Also agree to all those mentioning Ebeneezer Goode - there are LOADS of joyfully pro-E songs from the heyday of 80s/90s rave, many of which managed to sneak some pretty blatant drug references onto Radio 1 &c, because the drug slang around E was still unfamiliar. But an awful lot of drugs are fairly recent innovations, and even cocaine and co wouldn't have been anywhere near as commonly taken by ordinary people as alcohol, at least in northern Europe.
