This years National Dialect Day will take place on Saturday 16th October, 2.00pm - 11.00pm, at Euxton Parish Community Centre, Nr Chorley, Lancashire. There will be competitions for writing and performing in any English dialect and an evening concert of the Country's best dialect performers. Future events will be staged annually all around England, organised by other dialect societies. Email me at lancashire.sid@hotmail.com to register your interest, offer your services or book a place in the competitions. Last years entries came from Northumberland, Lakeland, Yorkshire, Lancashire, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire and Cornwall and we are actively seeking dialect speakers and singers from the south and southeast of England to add to this year. Please pass this info. on to any likely candidates that you know and let's make it a truly National Dialect Festival! Sid, Chairman, The Lancashire Society
