There is a great CD by the late Mike Seeger called Southern Banjo Sounds which gives beautifully played examples of many different styles of Old Time banjo, with lots of detail in the sleeve notes. I believe he may also have made a DVD with the similar content. Round Peak is an area between Mount Airy NC and Galax VA with lots of great musicians and a distinct local style of clawhammer developed originally by Charlie Lowe and others, and passed on by Fred Cockerham, Kyle Creed and Tommy Jarrell (and many others - these days Riley Baugus, Kirk Sutphin and of course Brad Leftwich) Cheers Ray
