I'm so glad to read that people still remember Dayle Stanley. I have both of her albums and they are just beautiful. Unfortunately I do not have the capability or knowledge :-( to put them onto a CD. I love her version of, "Shennendoah" which actually is my favourite of all the many, many artists who have recorded it. It is absolutely stunning!! I will share my memories of how I came to know about Dayle Stanley. Many, many years ago, in the 1970's I was in a Woolworth's store, (ah,sadly those aren't around anymore) and I was looking through their music section of albums and 45 records. I saw the album, "After the Snow" and although I had never heard of Dayle Stanley, I thought the cover was very nice and read the back of the album cover. I was already a hugh Joan Baez fan and I thought that this album looked like something I would enjoy. I bought it for a few dollars (it was new, not used)and as soon as I got home, I listened to it. I immediately loved it!! I thought that Dayle had a lovely voice and wondered why she was not well known. Many years later I found her other album somewhere else and it is also a wonderful record. I love her voice and only wish they had been rereleased on CD. I guess many obscure folk artists from the 60's have never had their records released on CD.
