sian. Yes this would have been a sung ballad, sung by Dafydd Jones himself at fairs, markets, on the streets - in fact anywhere where people tended to congregate. It would have been printed on a ballad sheet of 4 sides, and usually the name of the tune would be found above the words. If your interested I could find out more about the ballad, but I am unable to do it here at home, and I'm off for 10 days to France on Tuesday, which does not leave much time for research. But after that... Yes, I am giving a talk (hardly a lecture) at the CAGC meeting at the end of the month, and the finishing touches to that will await my return I'm afraid. Tegwyn
