Don't think I'm down hearted ....because we have parted... or lonely or terribly blue.... As I write this letter...I've never felt better... And I have a question for you.... Are you lonesome tonight? ... If you are....serves you right... Just for spoiling the evening I'd planned... How you led me to think...with that come-hither wink...then at your door you just...shook my hand.... How you pleased me and teased me...and passion implied... But the promise was false...and fulfillment...denied... So for me..shed no tear...cause I'm glad you're not here...And I hope that you're lonesome tonight.... Yes..this heartache will pass...for I feel it's just gas... so I hope that you're lonesome...tonight!
