WFDU - Ron Olesko The Shivers & the Second Fiddles in NJ (21) RE: The Shivers & the Second Fiddles in NJ 02 Jun 10

We are going to have some special guests as well - sitting in with the Second Fiddles on June 5 will be David Bennett Cohen - the original keyboardist from Country Joe & The Fish! David has performed with everyone from Jimi Hendrix to Hubert Sumlin and is a veteran of The Monterey Pop Festival, The Human Be-In and a mainstay of both the Greenwich Village and Haight Ashbury Folk scenes. David has several instructional DVD's and CD's available on Hompespun Tapes (Happy Traum's company) and his piano work has been described as "certifiably smokin' barrel house rumba boogie-woogie piano player in the James Booker/Professor Longhair/Dr. John vein."

Another special guest with the Second Fiddles will be bassist Jason Cypher.Jason is one of the best bassists in town. Very gifted. He's spent time at Berkeley and in New Orleans playing with Professor Longhair's and CJ Chenier's bands. His youtube clips are worth watching! - http://www.myspace.com/jasonsypher.

This is going to be a really fun evening! I am really looking forward to an evening of great music from both the Shivers and the Second Fiddles and I hope anyone who will be in the area will join us for this celebration!   I posted a "commercial" as well as a video from the Second Fiddles at our blogsite - www.hurdygurdyfolk.blogspot.com
