I have to agree with Moira - almost any song of any kind can be sung unaccompanied - and you have so much freedom in picking an interesting and entertaining style. I've been singing a capella for years and do everything from Burn's "Silver Tassie" to Dave Goulder's "Sexton and the Carpenter" to the Corries' version of "Kate Dalrymple", not to mention music hall stuff like "Sister Susie's Sewing Shirts For Soldiers"!!! The best thing about unaccompanied singing is you don't have to lug great heavy instruments about!! Just turn up and you're ready to go. In fact, in Perth, Western Australia, where I now live, we have a monthly Unaccompanied Singers and Reciters Club where no instruments are allowed!!!! So just learn a few songs and go for it!
