Froggy, what you are really seeing is the difference in perceived contrast of the reflected image. The greatest contrast, and the greatest detail, is from the black finish. Also differences in color would be more see-able because of the contrast. The colors and shadows of reflection are washed out by the amount of photons blowing back by all that nasty disfusey white paint.
