I've been to a few of the recent Tuesday and Friday sessions at The Tiger in Beverley and can confirm that they're a friendly bunch. There is some cross-over in attendance, but it mainly seems to be different people turning up on different days.

At the Friday sessions, they play pretty much anything, whilst on Tuesdays, they mainly stick to tunes from a couple of session books, one of which is all stuff composed by one of the regulars, whilst the other is mainly standard session favourites.

Both sessions are very welcoming to beginners. Well, they've politely put up with my ineptitude on the melodeon, with no complaints, so far.
