Hiya,
I'm in the process of recording an album of nursery rhymes, songs and lullabies, and am wanting to include the song 'Dingle Dangle Scarecrow' (lyrics below). Having searched on the web I can't find this credited to anybody except Trad., but from memory I had thought it was relatively recently written (in the last 40 years anyhow...). Does anybody know any more about the origins of this song? I want to get my sleeve notes as accurate as possible, and register correctly with MCPS etc.

When all the cows were sleeping and the sun had gone to bed,
Up jumped a scarecrow and this is what he said,
