Gingerbeardman Chords: Jackson C Frank's 'Don't Look Back' (11) RE: Chords Req: Jackson C Frank 18 Jul 10

Hi Rog
Great song. I can give you the basic chords I use but I've not been able to work out the fast changes Jackson C Frank plays. I use D, G, and A, but to be in tune with the record I think you'd want E, A and B, so:

(E)Don't look back
Over your (A)shoulder
Keep your (E)eye on freedom's (B)shore
Cause you (E)know
The brave men (A)with you
Also (B)pay the wages of (E)war

Follow the same pattern throughout the song, for verses as well as the chorus.
The fast changes (eg in the intro before he starts singing) I think might contain a lot of switching quickly between E&A, but I can't tell exactly what he's playing. If you or your son work it out I'd love to know! Hope that's enough to get him started.

Patrick

Lyrics:

(chorus)
Don't look back
Over your shoulder
Keep your eye on freedom's shore
Cause you know
The brave men with you
Also pay the wages of war

You can read all about justice
In a million books and more
But there aren't words
To bring back Evers
Nor pay the price
That he stood for

chorus

Well can't you hear the bells of Selma
Calling out their mournful chimes
Just another death for justice
Another sorrow that's yours and mine

chorus

Well there are walls that make a prison
Many names that can bring hate
You tear 'em down and ride 'em over
Before you find
It's just too late

chorus
